1900 – 2100
A short introduction to the Racing Rules of Sailing, presented by Peter Oden. Every game has its rules — they are what define the game. In addition, fair and safe management of your boat depends on at least some familiarity with them. This program is intended to provide enough of a basis of the rules to give you the confidence to participate in a sailboat race and to understand how the game is played. Starting sequences and signalling will be included, so this will be a useful prelude to Saturday’s program on starting strategy.
